People on the move

The latest round-up of personnel changes in the research and insight business. Companies announcing staff changes this week include Gilt Groupe, The Sound Research, Aegis, WOMMA, Vision Critical, Foviance and Cint.

Online retail outfit Gilt Groupe has promoted DAVID ZUCKER to the post of chief marketing officer. He will be responsible for all research and analytics, as well as brand positioning. He joined the firm a year ago as vice president of customer marketing and oversaw a twofold increase in the customer base. Before joining Gilt Groupe Zucker was at computing giant Dell as global director of customer relationship management.

LINDSEY BOYLE has been named as a new vice president at youth research house The Sound Research. The qual firm has charged Boyle with heading up the Vancouver office and building the West Coast business. The firm counts Nike and Pepsi among its clients.

Aegis has appointed HAROLD MITCHELL to the company’s board. Mitchell is the founder of Aegis-owned The Mitchell Communication Group.

AD VOOGT joins the board of directors at Vision Critical. Voogt began his career at Cognos before starting his own business consultancy.

The Word of Mouth Marketing Association has revealed the names of its 2011 executive committee. ROD BROOKS (vice president and SMO, Pemco Mutual Insurance Company) is president. DAVID WITT (senior manager social engagement, General Mills) is president elect. BLAKE CAHILL (principal, Banyan Branch) is secretary. ED KELLER (CEO, Keller Fay Group) is treasurer. DAVID BINKOWSKI (EVP digital marketing, Lippe Taylor) is executive committee member at large. DAVID RABJOHNS (CEO, MotiveQuest) is executive committee member at large.

Customer experience and usability consultancy Foviance have hired GUY STEPHENS as senior social care consultant and RICHARD SEDLEY as commercial director.

NORMAN BEHREND becomes Cint’s managing director for Central Europe.
