MindProber raises funding and hires Pasqualina for US expansion
The financing takes MindProber’s total funding to date to $7.2m. The company said it will use the funds to pursue an ‘aggressive plan of expansion in the US’, including increasing its operational capabilities and growing its platform and panel.
Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Porto, MindProber’s do-it-yourself platform collects consumer responses and reactions to media content. The platform combines neuroscience, remote sensing and machine learning using galvanic skin-response signals from participants in their homes.
Alongside the funding news, the company has appointed Marco Pasqualina (pictured) as chief revenue officer.
Based in San Francisco Bay Area, Pasqualina joins the company from Feedback Loop, where he also led sales. His career began 30 years ago and includes sales and leadership positions at MetrixLab and Toluna.
Pedro Almeida, founder and chief executive, MindProber, said: “From the moment I met him, Marco showed a clear alignment with our vision of what MindProber is and will be. Add to that his deep track record and experience, plus the fact that people we trust who have worked with him in the past recommend him very, very highly, and we are confident he will help the company reach its full potential. Having him in the US to oversee growth and operations is an added bonus.”
Iberis Capital led MindProber’s Series A funding, with investments from Armilar Venture Partners in addition to existing investors Portugal Ventures and Wisenext.
