CRIC names chief admin officer

News North America People

CANADA – The Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC) has appointed John Tabone as chief administrative officer, effective immediately.

Tabone joined CRIC as interim chief administrative officer in April.

Tabone is the founder of marketing consultancy ConvergeLoyalty, and prior to that spent 19 years at the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (and its predecessor the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants), where he established the insights and analytics function.

He was also the final president of the Professional Marketing Research Society (PMRS), and helped to finalise its merger with Canadian Association of Market Research Organisations (Camro) and the Canadian Survey Research Council (CSRC) in 2004 to form the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA).

Tabone’s next responsibilities at CRIC will include developing the accreditation process, growing membership, and supporting the launch of its public opinion research standards and disclosure requirements.

CRIC was established in late 2018 following the sudden closure of the MRIA.
