Comscore to cut staff in organisation changes

In a statement, the company said that it expected its plan to save between $20m and $25m annually from reducing staff numbers, with one-time costs associated with the plan, such as severance, termination benefits and employee compensation, accounting for between $7m and $9m.
Comscore said that the strategy was designed to lower and create more flexibility in its cost base and simplify how the business operates. It did not state the precise number of layoffs.
A portion of the savings will also be used to recruit staff to play a key role in the ROI strategy, as well as investing in continuing employees.
The changes follow the appointment of Matt McLaughlin as Comscore’s chief executive in May 2026, replacing Jon Carpenter.
McLaughlin said: “Since assuming the leadership role at Comscore, I have spent significant time evaluating our business, our product portfolio, our organisational structure and the opportunities we believe can create the greatest value for our customers, employees and shareholders.
“What is clear is that Comscore has tremendous assets, intelligent algorithms and long-standing client relationships, but we are not yet organised or focused in the way required to fully leverage that value. The issue is not effort. The issue is focus, accountability, scalability and investment capacity. We must do better, and the ROI strategy is designed to help us do that.”
