Accenture acquires Kogentix
The deal will strengthen Accenture’s Applied Intelligence data engineering business.
Kogentix offers assets that can move businesses’ long-standing applications to technologies including Hadoop, Spark and Python, allowing them to obtain insights from large data sets more quickly.
Founded in 2015, Kogentix employs around 220 staff and has offices in Illinois, California, India, Singapore and Indonesia.
Narendra Mulani, chief analytics officer, Accenture Applied Intelligence, said: “With Kogentix’s assets and highly skilled team of big data and AI professionals, we are better positioned to help clients realise the value of open source analytics platforms and embed new intelligence at the core of their businesses.”
The company’s co-founders, chief executive Boyd Davis, chief operating officer Sanjay Gogia, chief technology officer Jai Malhotra, and president Krishna Nimmagadda, will maintain leadership positions within the business.
Davis said: “We founded Kogentix because we knew that big data and machine learning would play a critical role in transforming enterprises. Becoming part of Accenture Applied Intelligence will allow us to seize a greater share of this market.”
The purchase follows Accenture’s acquisition of content analytics and enterprise search firm Search Technologies into its Applied Intelligence division in August 2017.
