WPP sees 8% revenue rise; shareholders vote on Sorrell pay
The UK was the strongest region for the group, with constant currency revenue growth of 17.2%, while the strongest performing sector was advertising and media investment management, which saw its revenues grow by 12.8%.
The revenue statement, made at the group’s AGM yesterday, came at the same time as WPP investors voted on group chief executive Sir Martin Sorrell’s controversial £43m pay package. According to the Guardian, 22% of investors refused to endorse the package ( 19.4% voted against; 2.7% abstained from the vote).
