The funding round for Talking Medicines raised finance from investment company Tern PLC and the Scottish Investment Bank, the investment arm of Scottish non-departmental government body Scottish Enterprise.

The funding will help launch and expand Talking Medicines’ AI data platform, which measures patient sentiment. The company will also recruit nine employees for its data tech team.

Talking Medicines was founded in 2013 and is based in Glasgow. It focuses on the use of AI, machine learning and natural language processing tools.

Jo Halliday, chief executive at Talking Medicines, said: “This investment will scale our team and the development of our AI, machine learning and natural language processing tech tools to translate what patients are saying into actionable pharma grade intelligence.”
