CHINA— Starcom China has appointed a new national research and insights director, one of a trio of senior appointments announced after winning new business from Mars and Wrigley.
Jeffrey Tan rejoins the firm after having most recently worked at Mindshare China where he headed the consumer insights division and worked with clients including Nike, Rolex, Pepsi and KFC.
Before Mindshare China Tan was head of insights at Starcom Singapore between 2005 and 2008, where his client book included the Singapore Tourism Board, General Motors-Chevrolet, Sony Electronics and Nippon Paint.
In his new role he will work with the firm’s research and strategy teams to generate a deeper understanding of consumers’ media and communications interactions, support planning teams to identify clients’ research needs and then address those needs through custom insight and advanced analytics.
The other new arrivals are Jonathan Hsia, who has been named general manager of the media agency’s digital division and Caterina Camerata, who has been appointed as human experience strategy director – a role that will see her responsible for designing “meaningful brand experiences” for clients.
