Rise of digital devices drives ‘screen-stacking’ in APAC

APAC — 54% of APAC residents ‘screen-stack’ — simultaneously engaging in other digital activities while watching TV.

This is higher than the global screen-stacking figure of 48%. The APAC figure peaks at 79% in Japan but drops to 37% in China, the lowest of all markets worldwide.

These figures come from TNS’s Connected Life study, which analysed the behaviour of 55,000 internet users worldwide. Results showed that users own approximately four digital devices each — this falls to three in Asia Pacific but rises to five among respondents in Australia, Japan, New Zealand and Taiwan.
