This week a bumper crop of personnel changes in the research and insight business. Companies announcing staff changes include Kadence, Pulse Group, Phorm and MarketTools.

ROD McGEARY has joined the board of directors at EFM house MarketTools. McGeary currently sits on the boards of Cisco Systems, Dionex Corporation and National Semiconductor.

Knowledge Networks has named KAREN GOLDSTEIN as its vice president of the CPG/Retail practice. Goldstein is alumnus of NPD, IRI and Research International. Most recently she was a vice president at Synovate.

JOHN MULDOWNEY becomes the new vice president of marketing at oven manufacturer Alto-Shaam. Market research sits squarely within his new remit.

Kadence International Singapore has welcomed ALENA ROSSINI as its new insight director. She will be based at the firm’s Singapore office. Rossini most recently worked with GfK NOP in London and Hong Kong. She previously worked with TRBI and HPI Research. Meanwhile in the UK Kadence has promoted former associate director ALEX SMITH to the post of insight director.

US customer analytics firm Buxton has appointed BILL BRADSHAW as director of its consumer package goods division. Clients under his watch include Kimberly Clark, Unilever and General Mills.

GLENN STOOPS is the new chief analytics officer at business consultancy Inforte. As well as client-facing tasks Stoops is also charged with growing internal talent, supporting analytics-related marketing and business development.

Research Now has boosted its German presence with two new appointments in the Munich office. OLIVER TJARKS becomes client development manager. PHILLIPP WILLMANN supports as client development executive.

US restaurant chain Ruby Tuesday has a new vice president of brand development in DAN DILLON. He will oversee marketing and research.

TOM ANDERSON has joined the advisory board of the Merlien Institute

Pulse Group has appointed ALLAN MELDGAARD as head of online communities. He will steer Planet Pulse, an online community of survey respondents throughout Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

GERRY LUKEMAN is the latest inductee in the Market Research Council’s Hall of Fame. Lukeman is chairman emeritus at Ipsos ASI. He was the only practising researcher to be inducted this year into the Hall of Fame.

KIP MEEK is to step down as a non-executive director of Phorm.

Among a slew of senior senior management changes at Conde Nast, LOUIS CONA becomes chief marketing officer. He will oversee the integration of the company’s print, digital, social, e-commerce, consumer insight and other assets to provide marketing solutions.

Chadwick Martin Bailey has named AMY MODINI as its new account director on the healthcare research team. Modini has been with the firm for 12 years.

DEAN KRATSIOS is the new senior vice president within the healthcare practice at Phoenix Marketing International.

DAVID WOOLFSON becomes senior vice president for research and insights at the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau. He previously held senior research posts at Univision, Turner Broadcasting and Nielsen.

Millward Brown’s qual research division Millward Brown Firefly names PETER FOSTER as senior account director. He was previously regional group account director for qual at TNS Media Intelligence.

TODD TRAUTZ gets a promotion at InsightExpress. He becomes vice president of research servicves within the custom marketing research team.
