The latest appointments and promotions in the global market research and consumer insight industry. This week: Attensity Group, MEC, Synovate MMA, Ipsos, Truviso, Networked Insights, IPA, Loop Analytics, Nestle, Vision Critical, GfK, US Census Bureau and Mott MacDonald.

US text analytics firm Attensity Group has appointed MANYA MAYES as director of advanced analytics. She joins the firm from software company SAS Institute where she spent 15 years in the data and text mining division and a further five analysing healthcare data for the company’s research projects.

MASON FRANKLIN has joined New York media agency MEC where he will be responsible for the customer insights team on the AT&T account.

Synovate Marketing Management Analytics in the US has appointed AMIR ZAHEER as vice president of account management and business development. Zaheer previously held senior marketing roles at Experian Marketing Services and RR Donnelley.

Ipsos North America has appointed MARK CAMPBELL as its new chief financial officer. He joins from Harte-Hanks where he was CEO of the company’s direct marketing organisation.

US analytics firm Truviso has hired CHRISTOPHER REID as vice president of sales, SHAUN LOWRY as director of business development and CURT BROWN as director of systems engineering. Reid joins from Visual Sciences, Lowry from WebForensics and Brown from Unica.

Social media analytics agency Networked Insights in the US has appointed BRADLEY BURKE as vice president of technology and PAUL DePINTO as senior vice president of sales and marketing. Burke was previously CTO at The Patent Board while DePinto’s past includes spells with Ripple6 and Invoke Solutions.

HAMISH PRINGLE will stand down from his role as director general of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising in the UK at the end of July 2011. The recruitment process to find his replacement has already started, the IPA said.

Ad industry veteran JON MANDEL has joined the advisory board at Loop Analytics in the US. He has worked for agencies including Grey Advertising, MediaCom, GroupM and Nielsen Connect during his career.

VERNON BRADLEY has rejoined Nestle in the UK as group marketing director. He returns to the firm after a spell running his own marketing consultancy.

VISION CRITICAL has added two new members of staff to its Paris office. ANTHONY MALKA, formerly of IBM, has been appointed business development manager and YAEL BENSOUSSAN, who was previously at IFOP Health, has been given the role of client services director in the healthcare division. The firm has also appointed EVA LAPARRA as senior vice president of European operations and managing director of its new Barcelona office. She was most recently VP of global marketing at Kantar Health.

GfK Retail & Technology has appointed COLM MALLON as territory manager for Ireland, where he will be responsible for developing new consumer panels.

RODERICK LITTLE, a biostatistician at the University of Michigan, will join the US Census Bureau as its new associate director for statistical methodology and standards.

UK management consultancy Mott MacDonald has hired PAUL HAMMOND to build a new economic regeneration research division at the firm.
