Nielsen ‘making layoffs’ after Arbitron buy

US — Mediapost reports that Nielsen has begun laying off staff following the completion of the takeover of the radio ratings firm Arbitron.

A Nielsen spokesman confirmed that headcount reductions were underway, but declined to comment on how many people were being let go. Mediapost puts the job cuts at more than 500, spread across both businesses.
