Released today by WPP and Millward Brown, the BrandZ ranking combines financial data with the perceptions of Indonesian companies.

BCA’s value of US$9.9bn places it just outside the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands ranking.

Just behind BCA in the ranking is another bank — Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) — with a value of US$8.3bn, and Telecoms brand Telkomsei, with a value of US$6.4. The full ranking can be found here.

“This is a country whose time has come,” said David Roth, CEO of The Store, WPP. “While China and India have been grabbing headlines, Indonesia has transformed into the economic powerhouse of Southeast Asia.

“The country is in the midst of social and economic change on a massive scale, making it an extremely attractive market for global and local brands alike, as this study proves.”
