Lucid makes Pittenger CTO

US – Programmatic sample business Lucid has appointed Rick Pittenger as its chief technology officer, overseeing its product and technology team.

Pittenger has more than 22 years’ experience of software development and was most recently leading the engineering and product organisations at Rocket Fuel. His career also included working at GeoCities when if first started, helping lead it through its IPO and acquisition by Yahoo!

Lucid president Brett Schnittlich said: “Rick is an internet technology veteran and leader in the development, deployment and management of programmatic marketplace systems. His experience in software engineering, alongside his long leadership history, will help Lucid in this period of growth.”

Prior to Pittenger’s appointment, Schnittlich was CTO as well as president. Schnittlich will now broaden his remit as president to include the expansion of Lucid’s audience and measurement businesses.
