Ipsos sees revenue growth rise in Q3

FRANCE – Market research business Ipsos has grown its revenue by 7.6% in the third quarter of the year, according to its latest quarterly financial results.

Business accounts

Ipsos said that revenue hit €636m in the third quarter, with its growth rate of 7.6% made up of 8.5% from the acquisitions of The BVA Family and Infas earlier this year and 2.9% from organic growth, minus the impact of the Euro’s appreciation against some other currencies.

Revenue amounted to €1.791bn for the first nine months of the year, with growth at 3.6%, including 0.7% organic growth, 4.9% from scope effects and -2% from negative currency effects.

However, Ipsos warned that political uncertainties in many countries, together with the budgetary constraints on governments, are resulting in a decline in public affairs activity, which is weighing on the company’s overall performance.

The latest results come following the appointment of Jean Laurent Poitou as chief executive officer at Ipsos, replacing Ben Page.

In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, total growth was at 10% at the end of September, mainly owing to recent acquisitions, although partly impacted by a 4% decline in France, owing to the unstable political climate in the country.

The Americas region posted organic growth of 4.3% in the third quarter, and there was recovery in organic growth in the US to 3%, although public affairs activity is down in the country by around 15% since the start of the year.

Asia-Pacific saw slight growth in China but a decline in public affairs activity in several countries, including Australia, New Zealand and India.

Budgetary constraints on governments and political instability in many countries are weighing on public spending and leading to delays in order intake, and therefore Ipsos has revised its 2025 annual organic growth target to around 0.7%.
