Ipsos Hungary boss takes CEO role at MEC

HUNGARY— Janos Gulyas has left Ipsos Hungary, where he was country manager, to join WPP media agency MEC Hungary as chief executive.

Before his time with the research agency Gulyas (pictured top) worked for another WPP company, Y&R Brands Hungary, as group CEO.

At MEC Gulyas reports to Central and Eastern Europe chief Anna Lubowska. He replaces Zsolt Simon, who left the firm to join national broadcaster TV2 as CEO and Central and Eastern Europe director for Pro7Sat1.

Back at Ipsos, Tamas Geczi (pictured bottom) has been appointed the new country manager for Hungary.

Geczi has been with Ipsos since June 2009, most recently heading up the ASI advertising research business for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Before that Geczi spent 10 years with Millward Brown, in charge of Central and Eastern Europe as well as leading operations functions in Continental Europe.
