Courtright has been chief executive at the Insights Association since January 2020. Prior to joining the industry organisation, she was executive vice-president of research science at Dynata.

Courtright will take up the role at Sago effective from 3rd November 2025. She will continue to serve in an ex-officio role on the IA board and spend time supporting the association in the coming months, working with the organisation’s new chief executive on the transition.

The IA has not yet appointed a successor to Courtright. The association’s board of directors has launched a search committee and a call for candidates will be issued soon.

“Melanie’s vision and leadership have left an enduring mark on the Insights Association and the broader research community,” said Jackie Chan, head of research, business messaging at Meta and IA board chair. “Her commitment to data quality, member value, and industry integrity has set a new standard for association leadership.”

Sago said Courtright would bring expertise in research methodology, digital innovation and industry advocacy.

Steve Schlesinger, chief executive officer, Sago, said: “Melanie is a powerhouse in our industry. Her track record of success, her ability to connect across the ecosystem, and her strategic mindset make her the ideal leader to help us commercialise our business and accelerate growth.”

Mike Sullivan, chief operating officer, Sago, added: “Having worked with Melanie over the years, I’ve seen firsthand her ability to elevate teams and drive meaningful change.

“Her arrival signals a bold step forward for Sago, and I’m excited to collaborate with her as we shape the future of our business.”

Courtright said: “The company’s commitment to innovative growth aligns perfectly with my passion for driving impact through insights. I look forward to working with this incredible team to unlock new opportunities and deliver value to our clients.”
