IMS dispenses cures for biopharma firms

US— Healthcare research giant launches Ask IMS, a web-based market intelligence service aimed squarely at early-stage biopharmaceutical companies.

Ask IMS offers decision-making support for “understanding critical market opportunities and issues, as well as for planning and executing successful commercialisation strategies”.

The service provides country-level insights drawn from IMS Health’s syndicated market audits. Information on tap includes sales and prescribing trends, primary disease treatments and promotion activities. Data is fed back to clients in pre-formatted, presentation-ready reports.

Jim Mahon, general manager for product and portfolio management, said: “With more than 1500 biopharmaceutical drugs in active development by early-stage firms, companies are seeking evidence-based insights to develop and integrate commercial thinking early on and throughout the development process. Ask IMS gives them an efficient, cost-effective way to transform their scientific vision into market reality.”
