Former Scarborough president Bob Cohen dead at 58

US— Bob Cohen, the former president of consumer and media research agency Scarborough Research, has died aged 58 following a battle with cancer.

Cohen led the firm, a joint venture between Nielsen and Arbitron, between 1993 and 2009 and also served as president of the Market Research Consortium, chair of the Council of American Survey Research Organisations (Casro) and on the board of directors at Marketing Research Institute International.

Before his time with Scarborough he worked in leadership positions at Yankelovich Partners and The Los Angeles Times.

Cohen took a medical leave of absence from Scarborough in November 2009

Arbitron’s Gregg Lindner, EVP of service innovation and chief research officer, who worked with Cohen for 16 years, said: “Bob was a dynamic leader, respected CEO, passionate academic and a cherished friend. He will be missed by all of us who had the honour of working with him and of knowing him personally.”
