US— High-profile Forrester Research analyst Jeremiah Owyang has joined his former colleague Charlene Li at Altimeter, a digital strategies consulting agency she formed last year.
Owyang left his position as senior analyst at Forrester this week and was today named a partner at Altimeter.
Prior to his spell at Forrester, he was director of corporate media strategy at podcasting and online video firm PodTech Network.
Altimeter founder Li spent almost a decade at Forrester, latterly as a vice president and principal analyst, before setting up Altimeter.
The firm recently produced a study ranking the social media engagement of the world’s top 100 brands, of which Starbucks came out on top. The study measures how many social media channels the top brands participated in, as well as the degree of engagement in each.
