Carlsberg hires Nick Rich to lead insights
Rich (pictured), formerly vice-president of global market and consumer insights at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), left the business in 2018 following a restructure.
In his new role, he will oversee the insights and analytics group across Carlsberg, bringing together staff from its Copenhagen headquarters and in-market teams in 30 countries.
He will be responsible for consumer insights being embedded across all categories, including core beer, craft and speciality, alcohol-free, and new category innovations, and lead the development of a customer and consumer foundational analytics hub for the company.
The role will also include sharing market and consumer insights with the wider business, including the research laboratory, commercial operations and on- and off-trade partnerships.
Rich said: “Carlsberg is a hugely well respected and recognised global brand with a 172 year history at the forefront of brewing. With an ambitious strategy for long term growth, I look forward to working with over 70 insights and analytics colleagues all over the globe, as well as group and market based commercial partners, to deliver that ambition.”
