IHG’s reorganisation resulted in its global insights team being based in Atlanta, Georgia.

A spokesperson said: “We recently made some changes to our business which involved creating new jobs in some markets, re-locating current roles and modifying the scope of other positions.

“As part of this, our global insights team is now based out of our Americas headquarters, so it can be closer to our global marketing function.”

Rich, who left IHG last month, said IHG had “rightly chosen to centralise strategic marketing and insights leadership in the US and I’ve chosen to move on, remain in the UK and am exploring new opportunities”.

He has been at IHG since 2006, when he joined as director of consumer insights for EMEA. Rich has extensive client and agency experience having worked at Kantar TNS and BMRB (starting on its graduate scheme), as well as Nokia.
