US – Private equity firm Primus Capital has made a ‘significant’ investment in knowledge management software company Bloomfire.
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Bloomfire’s software is used by enterprise and mid-market companies to organise information and expertise to aid customer service, sales and marketing.
The terms of the investment were not disclosed. Primus will work with the Bloomfire management team to support the next stage of the company’s growth.
As part of the investment, Primus Capital’s Aaron Davis and Chandler Watlington will join Bloomfire’s board of directors, along with Bloomfire chief executive Mark Hammer (pictured).
Hammer said: “Partnering with Primus on this significant investment is a real opportunity for Bloomfire to accelerate our growth and innovation while continuing the dedicated support we provide our customers.
“By leveraging Primus’ experience with great software-as-a-service companies, we now have the opportunity to invest in the team and look for mergers and acquisitions opportunities to expand our footprint.”
Aaron Davis, director, Primus, said: “Bloomfire has an industry-leading product, a strong leadership team, and a proven track record for growth. The company’s leading position in the knowledge management space, combined with this investment, will create a new growth trajectory for the business. There is significant momentum in market demand for knowledge management solutions.”
