BARB announces new hires as services expand

UK — BARB (Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board) has announced two new hires and a promotion.

Paul Smith has joined the body from ABC as project manager, and Sonja Adjin has joined from RSMB as research manager. Adjin’s appointment takes the BARB research team to four people.

BARB has also announced that Joe Lewis has been promoted from project director to deputy research director.

According to the announcement, these changes are “integral to the next period in BARB’s development”, which will see the delivery of Project Dovetail, allowing BARB to include measurement of viewing on devices other than TVs, as well as tender processes for contracts from 2019 onwards.

“I’m delighted to welcome Sonja and Paul to the growing BARB team and to see Joe take on more responsibility,” said Justin Sampson, chief executive at BARB.

“As our service develops, we need to ensure we have the right resource to deliver our data to the industry. The experience in our team is expanding and both the new additions will be a great asset.”
