Its expansion has continued with 12 new analysts every quarter across in its UK offices, taking its total staff to more than 75. Aquila Insight also plans to open its first overseas office this year.

Its clients include recent wins – British Airways and HomeServe – along with Sony Mobile, Tesco Bank and Swinton Insurance. The Aquila Insight team will work alongside BA’s in-house analytics team driving the international airline’s customer relationship management strategy.

Warwick Beresford-Jones (pictured, right), co-founder, said: "Big data is forecast to add more than £241 billion to the economy by 2020 and the UK has the opportunity to be a world leader in big data and analytics. From the start we have focused on delivering a commercial advantage to all of our clients and have built a strong reputation in the industry. Big data has been much hyped in recent years but boards are now demanding real results."

The company was founded by Warwick Beresford-Jones and John Brodie (pictured, left) in 2012 with offices in Edinburgh and London.
