Accenture to buy Japanese consultancy SI&Co
Founded in 1980, SI&C offers IT services and consultancy to clients in industries including financial services, public sector, manufacturing and retail.
Through the acquisition, Accenture is aiming to bolster its ability to work with Japanese clients on transforming their enterprises.
SI&C employs around 900 people and offers tools that integrate custom development, cloud, data and AI, and consulting services focused on business process optimisation and organisational transformation.
The company also owns two subsidiaries, Advanced Solution Leading Corporation and Cibis. Inc., which together employ around 600 staff.
The full SI&C group, comprising a headcount of around 1,500, will join Accenture in Japan.
Accenture has not disclosed the financial terms of the agreement, and completion of the deal is subject to closing conditions.
Atsushi Egawa, chief executive, Accenture, Japan, and co-chief executive, Asia-Pacific, said: “Accenture continues to strengthen its services to help clients build digital cores that are essential to driving enterprise-wide transformation.
“SI&C’s mission to use digital technology to improve the future and transform society, resonates strongly with Accenture’s purpose to deliver on the promise of technology and human ingenuity. We believe the integration of these two companies which share the same values will accelerate transformation for Japanese enterprises.”
Toshinori Iwasawa, chief executive, SI&C Co., Ltd. said: “This transaction will combine our strengths with Accenture’s broad service offerings, global insights, and execution capabilities to deliver new value to our clients, while providing expanded opportunities for our people.”
