WPP ups stake in Mindshare South Africa

SOUTH AFRICA— WPP has agreed to acquire a further 50% stake in media buying and planning agency Mindshare South Africa from its affiliate Ogilvy South Africa, taking its share in the company up to 70%.

Mindshare, which offers market research alongside its core media planning and buying services, will now form part of WPP’s GroupM network of companies within South Africa.

The firm reported revenue of 53.23m Rand (£4.75m) for the year ending 31 December 2009.

Clients on its roster include Kellogg, Sun International, Unilever and MultiChoice.
