WPP to buy consumer participation firm Ascentum

CANADA— WPP has announced that Hill+Knowlton Strategies Canada is acquiring consumer participation specialists Ascentum, in an attempt to increase its digital capabilities for clients.

Founded in 2003, Ascentum, which is based in Ottawa, is a full-service consultancy that helps government, business and not-for-profit clients work with stakeholders via online, in-person and social media-based strategies and tools. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
