ITALY – Advertising and communications business WPP has launched its Milan campus, housing 35 agencies and 2,000 staff.
The centre, based in a former factory in the city’s San Cristoforo district, covers an area of 27,000 square metres, and brings together nine previous sites.
By reusing an existing building, WPP said it would save 30% of the building’s lifetime carbon emissions, and the campus will also be plastic free and be powered by renewable energy sources.
The project was led by BDG architecture + design, a WPP company, and delivered by local partner 967arch.
The agencies based at the campus will have access to work, social and event spaces, as well as amenities such as restaurants, a minimarket and a pharmacy.
The Milan campus joins similar WPP campuses in New York, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Hong Kong and Mumbai.
Mark Read, chief executive of WPP, said: “Our Milan campus is designed for how people want to work in the future; designed to inspire people to do their best work, to collaborate and to learn from each other.”
