Three food and drink research agencies merge to form FIS Group

FIS Group was formally established in 2020 as a unified parent brand for Food Innovation Solutions and Good Sense Research, which combined in 2012. Cambridge Market Research joined the group in 2023.
The creation of FIS Group will see the three companies use the same name and operate as a single connected team across insight, innovation and product testing, with the company arguing it would reflect how clients work with the three businesses.
FIS Group will work across retail, food service, branded fast-moving consumer goods and own label, fresh produce growers and scaling businesses.
The company, which will remain under the same ownership after the rebrand, will also run fresh produce benchmarking programmes for UK food retailers, and proprietary insight programmes including Appetite Shift, an ongoing, syndicated study tracking how GLP-1 medications are reshaping consumer diets, habits and lifestyles.
Mike Faers, founder and group chief executive at FIS Group, said: “People ask why we made the acquisitions we did. The honest answer is that we never bought an order book. We bought complementary skills, experience and people. Joined up, that knowledge is the whole point.”
Kelly Dowson, group managing director at FIS Group, added: “For me, this is about building a simpler, stronger and more connected organisation, easier to understand and better positioned for the future.
“It brings real benefits to our customers: greater clarity, consistency and confidence, with all of our expertise now accessible through one trusted name.”
