SurveyMonkey appoints Blumenthal as head of polling
Blumenthal (pictured) will be based in Washington D.C. and will join the company’s survey research team which includes Jon Cohen, former lead pollster at The Washington Post and vice-president of research at Pew Research.
Most recently, Blumenthal was senior polling editor at The Huffington Post, responsible for its Pollster section, where thousands of election polls are analysed and shared. Pollster.com was bought by The Huffington Post in 2010.
Blumenthal said: “The polling industry is at a moment of reinvention, and I’m thrilled to get back on the front-lines. The team at SurveyMonkey is marrying traditional scientific research practices with new methodologies. I’m looking forward to taking what we learn from our election work and creating best practices for all SurveyMonkey customers.”
