US — Social media analytics firm Socialbakers has opened its first US office in San Francisco, to be led by president and COO Martin Huml.
Huml previously served as the company’s chairman. He also ran his own computer distribution company in Eastern Europe and more recently an investment consulting firm in the US.
Socialbakers, which started out in the Czech Republic in 2008, produces tools for tracking and managing campaigns on social networks including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.
Its clients include Lufthansa, L’Oréal, Danone, Vodafone and Samsung. The firm said more than 60 US brands are already using its service, with demand growing.
Huml will be supported by VP of marketing Katrina Wong, who was previously at subscription billing company Zuora.
CEO Jan Rezab (pictured) said: “Companies can no longer expect or assume that online users will engage with their Facebook or Twitter content. Our clients increase social media relevance and build their social community faster because we show what is working, what doesn’t work and how they compare against competitors. Companies can build tremendous communities by using our technology to understand which content is most and least engaging and viral.”
