US— Web survey specialist QuestionPro has acquired PollBob, a community polling startup with a website and iPhone app used by over 350,000 registered users. The deal comes two years after PollBob was created.
QuestionPro says that the tie-up will add scope to PollBob by adding Android and Windows products to its existing iPhone app, and will be an important addition to its current polling, mobile research and on- and offline survey portfolio.
The PollBob service was created in 2010 by co-founders Zach Kupperman and Ben Jacobson to provide real-time, on-the-go community polling data. Over 3 million opinions have been shared in those two years and earlier this year it added 270,000 users via its acquisition of DIY polling site Misterpoll.
Jacobson will now join the QuestionPro team, led by CEO Vivek Bhaskaran (pictured), who is also the founding member and CEO of Survey Analytics. Kupperman has left the business.
PollBob finished second place in the Festival of NewMR 2011’s Insight Innovation Competition.
