Pureprofile announces I-Link acquisition

Asia Pacific M&A News

AUSTRALIA – Global data and insights company Pureprofile has agreed to acquire Sydney-based online field and data collection services company I-Link for AUS$1.25m in a cash transaction.

Sydney Opera House

The acquisition will see I-Link’s staff in Australia, Philippines, India and Malaysia transfer to Pureprofile, as well as the firm’s Livetribe panel, technology platforms and software.

Pureprofile said that Livetribe would complement the firm’s existing panels, and that both brands would continue to operate for the foreseeable future.

I-Link founders Chris Rowen and Scott Clark will both retire from the business following the completion of the acquisition, which is expected to take place on 1st July.

The acquisition will expand Pureprofile’s market share in Australia, and both companies will merge their Sydney premises, retaining Pureprofile’s head office in the city, as well as reducing third-party panellist sourcing costs.

I-Link said that having access to Pureprofile’s much larger audiences and operations teams would help it to expand.

Martin Filz, managing director at Pureprofile, said: “Beyond the baseline opportunity to enhance the group’s revenue and profitability, we are welcoming a skilled I-Link team, as well as significant data assets and long-standing client relationships.

“We see strong synergies and opportunities in this acquisition, and are hugely excited to leverage our combined expertise to drive our collective growth in the dynamic and fast-growing data and insights market.”

Rowen and Clark added: “Having spent the past two decades building I-Link into a true market leader in the Australian research landscape, we are excited to be passing the baton to Pureprofile.

“We’re looking forward to seeing where they take the team over the coming years and to celebrating their ongoing success. It is clear to us that with Pureprofile’s people-first approach and wonderful culture, the I-Link team will fit in perfectly.”
