The latest appointments and promotions in the global market research and consumer insight industry. This week: MRSI, The Research Agency, Principles Research, The Interactive Advertising Bureau, Research Now, Decode, Kinesis, Arbitron, AOR, Langer, Vovici and Greenberg Quinlan Rosner.

Marketing Research Services Inc, part of the MVL Group of companies in the US, has appointed REBECCA HUNTER as a senior project director. She joins from TNS where she spent six years and held the roles of senior research associate and manager. The firm has also promoted AARON GULLEY to senior account executive, BETTY BERLING to analytical research manager, KRISTEN HUNGERFORD to senior analyst, TINA PRICE to senior project director and KERI GLAD to associate analyst.

CONNON BRAY has joined The Research Agency in New Zealand as partner for quantitative research. He joins the company from electronics retailer Best Buy, where he was in charge of leading customer loyalty strategy across Canada.

Principles Research in the UK has appointed REBECCA WEIGHTMAN as account director, REBECCA JARVIS as senior research consultant and STEPHANIE GARSIDE and RACHEL JACKSON as research executives. Weightman was previously research manager at Tangible Branding and Jarvis was previously at social research agency Qa Research.

BOB CARRIGAN has been elected chairman of the board of directors at the Interactive Advertising Bureau in the US. Carrigan is currently chief executive officer at IDG Communications.

Research Now has appointed YING LEE as client development manager within its Asia team and promoted MARTIN TOMLINSON to client development director for the region. Lee was previously business development manager at Survey Sampling International while Tomlinson led Research Now’s sales and sales support activities in New Zealand.

German research agency Decode has appointed TOBIAS ECKERT as director of research and innovation. He was previously an account director with Millward Brown in Germany.

GENE FILIPI has joined Kinesis Survey Technologies in the US as director of sales. He previously worked in sales roles at CfMC, Lieberman Research Worldwide and Gallup.

Arbitron has appointed RICHARD SURRATT as executive vice president of finance, with a view to moving him to chief financial officer. Current CFO Sean Creamer was promoted to EVP of US media services last year and has been holding both roles since.

MONICA GESSNER has joined Australia Online Research as senior research executive. She joins from Roy Morgan Research where she was account services director.

MIKE BLOXHAM is to leave his post as director of insight and research at Ball State University’s Center for Media Design to join a start-up company in the private sector. He will be replaced by MICHAEL HOLMES, currently associate director and lead researcher at the university.

GREGORY HOLYK will join Langer Research Associates as a research analyst in April this year. Holyk has been working as visiting professor of politics at Washington and Lee University in Lexington and survey and statistics consultant for the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

Research software firm Vovici has appointed DEREK BROWN as VP of EMEA to head sales operations across the region. He joins from Oracle and will be based at the firm’s UK office.

Opinion research agency Greenberg Quinlan Rosner in the US has promoted ISMAEL SAVADOGO from finance director to chief financial officer.
