People

The latest appointments and promotions in the global market research industry. This week: BMF, Swift Research, Synovate, EDigital Research, WISERD, Smartfocus, Leapfrog, iSuppli, FreshMinds Research, Discovery and Insight Research Group.

ROB CHANDLER has been given the new role of head of marketing sciences at Australian ad agency BMF, where he will be responsible for developing the firm’s data analytics offering. He was previously data planning director at the firm.

Swift Research in the UK has appointed CLAIRE HENSHALL as a senior research executive within its automotive team. Henshall previously worked at Kirklees Council.

ROSEMARY BAYMAN has joined Synovate in the UK as research director within the financial and business services team. She was most recently at eBenchmarkers and previously had a stint with TNS. The firm has also hired CHRIS KING as head of the European Oncology Monitor with its healthcare research division. He joins from Datamonitor where he was a senior consultant.

EDigital Research in the UK has appointed HELEN BURT as associate director for business development, where she will oversee a new team and be responsible for maintaining company growth. She joins from Le Boat, part of the TUI travel group, where she headed up the global ecommerce team.

The Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research, Data and Method (WISERD) has appointed a new director, professor Gareth Rees. Rees, who replaces Huw Beynon, is based at Cardiff University.

CHRIS UNDERHILL has stepped down from his position as CEO at marketing analytics software firm Smartfocus. He will stay on with the company until the end of the year and help appoint a replacement.

Leapfrog Research & Planning in the UK has promoted SUSANNAH PALMER to associate director and ABIGAIL MOORCOCK to senior research executive. Palmer was previously research manager and Moorcock served as research executive.

US research agency iSuppli has hired LUCA De AMBROGGI as senior analyst where he will lead the automotive infotainment components and devices portals. He will be based at the firm’s Munich office.

KEVIN CORNWELL has joined UK agency FreshMinds Research to lead its financial and professional services division. His past roles include spells with Evolve Partners, Celerant Consulting and The LEK Partnership.

Discovery in the UK has appointed ALAN BREDEE as associate director with specific responsibility for quantitative research. Bredee previously worked at Virtual Surveys, GfK NOP and the MVA Consultancy.

Insight Research Group in the UK has hired CHARLOTTE BRENNAN and SOPHIE TENDRYA as research assistants. Both are recent university graduates.
