People

The latest appointments and promotions in the global research and insight industry. This week: Metro Research, Dow Jones, Cloud9 Analytics, Business Logic Systems, IAB Ireland, Lightspeed Research, Harris Interactive, Gongos Research and LogicLab.

Metro Research in the UK has appointed Mike Holland as research director and Alexandra Penciu as research executive. Holland was previously a research director at Harris Interactive and before that was with Network Research. Penciu is a former journalist.

Jennifer Jehn has joined Dow Jones as senior vice president for marketing, responsible for brand marketing, advertising, customer research and customer service. She was previously SVP for marketing, online and human resources at the New York Post.

Cloud9 Analytics, a California-based business intelligence software firm, has hired Karen Steele as vice president of marketing.

Former T-Mobile commercial director Tim Yates has been appointed CEO of Business Logic Systems, a provider of behavioural data software tools for mobile network operators, based in the UK.

IAB Ireland has hired Suzanne McElligott as chief executive officer. McElligott has previously worked as sales and marketing manager for Radio Kerry, as a director of Independent Radio Sales and as a marketing manager for CBS Outdoor. Most recently, she lectured in the marketing faculty at the Dublin Institute of Technology.

Lightspeed Research has appointed Roy Patel as vice president of business development for the EMEA region. He joins from MetrixLab where he was UK commercial director. He has also previously worked at Nielsen NetRatings, Jupiter Media Metrix and Extel Financial.

Harris Interactive has hired Neil Russell as senior consultant for public sector and social policy research in the UK. He joins from Millward Brown where he held the position of account director, working for clients including the COI, the Home Office, the Ministry of Justice and Royal Mail.

Michigan-based firm GongosResearch has promoted Bob Yazbeck to vice president of community methodologies, a new role created to support the development of the agency’s iCommunities, metaCommunities and Consumer Village brands. Gongos has also hired Sarah Corp as director of transportation and technology research. Corp previously worked for Gongos, but left to join Clear Seas Research as head of the firm’s food and packaging division.

Merkle-owned marketing analytics firm LogicLab has hired Lauren Lanzi as account management director. She was previously ad sales research director at The National Geographic Channel and before that worked for Simmons Market Research.
