Penn Schoen Berland buys First Movies International

UK— WPP-owned strategic communications agency Penn Schoen Berland has acquired First Movies International, a research-based strategic consultancy with offices in London and Los Angeles.

First Movies, which was founded in 2000, carries out research for film studios, independent movie distributors, production companies and industry affiliates.

Services on offer include screen testing, concept testing, exit polls and creative re-positioning.

Penn Schoen Berland said that First Movies’ capabilities would “compliment” its existing media and entertainment practice “by giving it a bigger footprint and an increased capability” to service client needs.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
