NetBase adds $9m to close $23m financing round

US — Social media monitoring and analysis firm NetBase has raised a further $9m in funding, bringing to a close its series C expansion round which brought in a total of $23m in new capital.

The money has been earmarked to fund a global expansion of the company’s sales and services with the aim of positioning the firm “to help global enterprises make fast and informed decisions” based on social intelligence, according to CEO Peter Caswell.

NetBase is backed by West Summit Capital, which led the series C round with participation from Thomvest Ventures, an existing investor in the business.

This latest financing round was first announced in June.
