This is the first deal by WPP in the region. Following the acquisition, the agency will be renamed Y&R Mongolia and its market research business will be affiliated to TNS, which will be the first international research consultancy to establish a presence in Mongolia.

The acquisition is part of WPP’s strategy to build its network in developing and fast-growth markets and sectors. Mongolia is forecast to grow at 9.5% in 2014, and 10% in 2015, according to the Asian Development Bank.
