UK— Millward Brown has named Duncan Southgate to the new position of global brand director for digital, the third of five worldwide brand directorships the firm is introducing.

Southgate (pictured) will move into the new position in April from his current role as global innovation director within the firm’s global solutions team.

He has spent 17 years with the company and during that time managed the UK’s first test of online advertising impact in 1997, and played an “instrumental” role in the development of the Ideablog ideation development forum for qual and quant research.

Southgate said: “I’m excited to be helping evolve our future offer, as digital behaviour and solutions for social media and mobile become ever more core to the insights we deliver to clients.”

Other recent global brand director appointments include John Svendsen for media and Rob Hernandez for Firefly, the firm’s qual offering.
