MDC Partners forms new insight division

US— Marketing and communications group MDC Partners has formed a new consumer insights group.

The firm has hired Chris McDonald to lead the new business arm which will focus on developing data and analytics capabilities to support MDC’s agencies in their advertising initiatives.

Miles Nadal (pictured), chairman and CEO at MDC, said: “From the feedback that we’ve received from our partners, CMOs, industry leaders and investors, it is clear that a core part of of our go-forward strategy needs to incorporate the use of data, analytics and technology.”

He added that the formation of the new division would help clients “better target and measure marketing programs across multiple channels of engagement”.

Chris McDonald joins from Abacus (formerly part of online ad company DoubleClick), where he was executive vice president and general manager.
