Kontagent scoops funding for user analytics

US— User analytics company Kontagent has secured $12m in a series B funding round led by Battery Ventures with the continued support of Maverick Capital and Altos Ventures.

The cash will be used for continued research and development and to expand the firm’s activities in the social and mobile web. As a result of the investment, Battery Ventures’ general partner Roger Lee will join the Kontagent board of directors.

Kontagent CEO Jeff Tseng (pictured) said: “We are very pleased to welcome Battery Ventures, who are deeply committed to our vision of the future of user analytics, and also honoured by the continued support from both Maverick and Altos. With these partners by our side, we can grow our platforms to continue solving the business needs of our current and future customers through increased investment in product development, data science and other strategic areas.”

The company works with games and software developers and marketers to help them understand user behaviours, with data feeding back into future product development.
