Katie Burke takes global comms role at Nielsen

US — Nielsen has announced that Katie Burke is to join as executive vice president of marketing and communications at the end of the month.

Burke will have global responsibility for Nielsen’s marketing and communications functions.

Nielsen CEO Mitch Barns said: “We are thrilled to welcome Katie to Nielsen. Her extensive experience at the highest levels of government, politics and public relations makes her the ideal leader to advance our global messaging and brand strategy efforts, driving growth for Nielsen and our clients.”

Burke, who most recently served as the global chair of public affairs at PR firm Edelman, added: “I can’t imagine a more exciting time to join Nielsen, a true industry leader with an incredibly rich history of innovation.

“I look forward to working closely with Nielsen’s global business leaders and marketing and communications professionals around the world on behalf of their clients.”
