SWITZERLAND— Kantar Media won a six-year contract to measure television viewing in Switzerland from industry committee Mediapulse following a three-way pitch. It replaces GfK, which had held the contract since 1985.
The contract runs from 2013. Kantar will recruit a panel of 1,870 homes and kit them out with its PeopleMeter and VirtualMeter technology – the former to measure viewing through the TV set, the latter to measure TV watched on PCs.
Keld Nielsen (pictured), global business development director at Kantar Media Audiences, said: “This prestigious contract is an important endorsement of our approach to delivering high-quality audience data but also to investing in the future and we will be building a system able to deal with a changing TV eco-system.”
