CHINA— Ipsos has hired Tony Wai to lead its qualitative research team across the Asia Pacific region.
Wai (pictured) will oversee more than 80 researchers in six cities across the Asia Pacific region, including specialists focusing on automotive, beverages, finance, FMCG, health, IT and telecoms.
His hiring follows the recent appointments of Malaysia-based regional qualitative director MC Lai, and Rinku Patnaik who has been given the role of qual head in India. Lai’s last role was client service director at TNS while Patnaik was formerly a director at Nielsen.
Other recent hires include former Omnicom Research managing director Omnia Holland, who was appointed in late 2010 to lead a new qual team in Australia, and Fumito Furukawa, was tasked at the end of last year with leading the Ipsos qual teams in Tokyo and Osaka.
