Founded in 1990, Infotools has offices in the US, UK, Latin America and South Africa, employs 75 people, and recorded sales of around $7m last year.

The company’s cloud-based Harmoni platform is used by researchers to access, analyse and share insights from survey data, bringing together disparate data sources. Clients include Coca-Cola and Samsung.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. The deal will bolster Ipsos’s digital and technological market research offer.

The companies have been working together since 2010.

The acquisition is the fourth Ipsos has made in 2021, following the purchase of Croatian tech company Fistnet, developer of the Dotmetrics digital audience platform, and audio recognition business Intrasonics. It also acquired a majority stake in Czech Republic out of home measurement company MGE Data earlier in the year.

Didier Truchot, chairman and chief executive, Ipsos (pictured), said the acquisition of Infotools would allow Ipsos to offer clients “real-time delivery with end-to-end automation” and ensure its teams “focus on turning data into actions, insights and impact”.

Ant Franklin, chief executive, Infotools, added: “By working with Ipsos, we will be able to jointly deliver solutions that make market research faster and more efficient.”
