Former Nielsen South Africa executive joins Ornico

Ornico has offered advertising spend intelligence since 1999 and is now expanding its capabilities. The appointment will strengthen its position in advertising intelligence, media research and advertising spend analysis.
Mothibeli joins Ornico from AGB Nielsen Media Research South Africa, where she was associate director and commercial lead, working with agencies, advertisers, broadcasters and media owners.
Nielsen confirmed in September 2025 that it intended to close its operations in South Africa, Business Tech reported.
Ornico said Mothibeli would lead its growth with the aim of addressing the gap in the local measurement landscape, including expanding partnerships with key clients and industry partners and developing the company’s capabilities.
Mothibeli is a member of the IAB South Africa Research and Measurement Council, where she contributes to industry discussions around research, data and measurement.
Oresti Patricios, chief executive at Ornico, said: “Hopolang is a veteran who truly ‘gets’ the perspective of both broadcasters and agencies. After years of collaborating on industry councils, I know her experience is second to none, but it’s her commitment to the industry’s growth that makes this partnership so exciting.”
