Experian buys majority stake in social media marketer Techlightenment

UK— The founders of social media marketing agency Techlightenment have sold a majority stake in the business to Experian, becoming part of the information services firm’s marketing services division.

Arjuna Gihan Fernando and Ankur Shah (pictured) launched Techlightenment in 2007. The company counts GlaxoSmithKline, Universal Pictures and Dr Martens among its clients.

The agency develops strategies and applications for social media marketing and advertising campaigns, while its brand research division monitors and analyses social data to understand what people are saying about products.

Revenue for the year to 28 February is expected to be around £5m.
