US— Nokia’s former head of analysis Greg Dowling has been appointed vice president at web analytics consultancy Semphonic.

Dowling (pictured) will be based at the firm’s New York office and will be responsible for leading its mobile strategy and measurement practice.

During his time at Nokia, Dowling built an online measurement team that integrated customer and online data from mobile and fixed web sources for all the company’s services.

Before Nokia, he was vice president of strategy and analysis at Digitas, where he led the firm’s web analytics offering and worked with clients including Delta, Kraft and Time Warner Cable. Dowling is also a former senior analyst at JupiterResearch.

Semphonic president Gary Angel said: “Greg has deep, hands-on real-world experience in enterprise analytics from the client perspective. He has the broad knowledge and practice experience that come from working with a variety of cutting edge clients in the agency environment. And he has the strategic chops to be a senior research analyst.”
